A Spanish client wanted to analyse and redesign their digital health app (already on the market for several years) based on user-experience principles. The app was focused on calcuting the insulin dosage for people with type 1 diabetes and had been developed by a person with diabetes. With investment came the challenge to improving the app and make it more accesible for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, while establishing and securing more collaborators within the healthcare industry.
The redesgin of the app included several stages. It was not proposed a whole redesign because the existing users might have already a mental model of how they navigate and use the mobile app. Thus it was better to spot the problems and fix them gradually, so the app didn’t risk losing any current users.
